HIGHLIGHTS OF MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Editor-in-Chief, IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation (2016-2022)

  • Elevated the journal’s Impact Factor to 5.7
  • Expanded geographical representation to include 29 countries on the Editorial Board
  • Increased female representation on the Editorial Board by 700%

General Chair, 2012 IEEE AP-S/USNC-URSI (Chicago, IL, USA)

  • Set new attendance records, with more than 1,900 attendees from 54 countries, including a record number of students

Chair, IEEE AP-S Distinguished Lecturer Program (2015-2016)

  • Introduced an innovative, Google Maps-based visual tool to track Distinguished Lecturer trips, significantly assisting local chapters in coordinating visits

Chair, IEEE AP-S/MTT-S Chicago Chapter (2011-2016)

  • Directed and coordinated scientific activities and seminars, successfully bridging academic initiatives with representatives from the local industry

Administrative Committee Member (2010-present)

Contributed to the creation of two new journals:

  • IEEE Journal of Electromagnetics, RF and Microwaves in Medicine and Biology
  • IEEE Journal on Multiscale and Multiphysics Computational Techniques

Vice President of Conferences (2022-present)

  • Coordinated the successful approval of the 2029 IEEE AP-S/USNC-URSI in New York City, NY, USA
  • Coordinated the successful approval of the 2030 IEEE AP-S/USNC-URSI in Santiago, Chile
  • Currently coordinating a potential new conference in China

If elected, my priorities are

  • Increasing affordability, accessibility and quality of international and regional events, including supporting the local chapters.
  • Increasing global engagement with the industry, government and research institutions, focusing on increasing the visibility of AP-S and its members among them
  • Improving networking and mentoring opportunities for young professionals, students, and those looking for new professional paths
  • Building AP-S membership around the world and expanding outreach, including India, China, the Middle East, South America, and Africa
